vamos!

That right there was one of my favorite nights ever.

We went to the Swarm game Saturday night because it was the last one we’d be able to see this season. After the game, they invited everyone to the roof of the Xcel Center parking lot to watch the Wild-Avalance game #6 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. We brought camp chairs, blankets, jackets and mittens. Oh, and some booze for keeping warm. We set up very near one of the two giant-screen TVs, and got down to enjoying one of the most exciting hockey games of the year.

The game itself, it wasn’t that great. Colorado won, and knocked the Wild out of the playoffs. However, the atmosphere was so spectacular, with the crowd yelling, the beer vendors from Xcel, the Swarm players, and the band playing between periods, that it didn’t really matter. I’d watch every game that way. I absolutely loved it. More, please!

The rest of this week has been largely quiet and highly enjoyable. We wandered Minneapolis taking photos with Mr Toast on Sunday (here!), then had a very late lunch on the patio at Brit’s. Wendy and I walked five miles yesterday (you know, I walked in two 3days–a total of 120 miles–without a single blister, and now I get one walking around Lake Calhoun?), and we’ve already managed to grill outside twice since it got warm, which was really only a few days ago. Tonight we’re going to go hang out with Ryan, just back from South Africa, and hopefully that’ll involve some outdoors-time as well. If it were a legitimate option, I’d be living in a tent right now.

I do love me some spring. Even more than that, I love that we’ll be in Mexico in 18 days. HELL YES.
