Man. My boss better not interrupt me while I’m attending to the important business of typing on my website.
Last night I took my vehicle back to the place it was worked on last weekend, so they could install the $2 valve I bought from Saab. I still have no clue what it does, except that it’s part of the vacuum system and when you don’t have it, your gas mileage drops substantially. Gas prices being what they are, it was important that I replace it. It only took 20 minutes to do that and fix the hoses, but I still expected to pay for it. My mother, eternal cynic, said, “Well, they should do it for free, considering how much you paid last weekend!” But I disagree. It’s their time, and I’d expect to pay for it. I love a company that knows how to earn customer loyalty. I keep having these weird coincidences. I won’t try to explain them all, because you’ll just think I’m crazy. -er. But it’s like Emily telling me last night, after not seeing her for over a month, that she had just noticed she was using my business card as a bookmark in the novel she brought to work that day. I dunno. Stuff like that is cute, if nothing else. I love it. Tonight I am taking my dad and seester to a Gopher hockey game. I guess they’re in the playoffs now. I go because the only thing that makes my dad happier than his daughters attending hockey with him is getting to fly an airplane. So tonight I’ll go and do my usual, which is to cheer the zamboni, eat a pretzel, and await my favorite hockey no-no: TOO MANY MEN ON THE ICE. I have managed to injure yet another tendon in my foot. Thankfully, my foot injuries seem to switch sides fairly often; now that the right achilles tendon and metatarsalitis seem healed, I have a sharp pain from my left ankle and down the side of my foot. I have a cool limp when I walk, but it’s been fine at on the elliptical machine. My kickboxing became more like boxing, however. I can’t kick with an injured foot, nor can I twist on it when I kick with the other. You may be thinking the lesson from this is that I should stop doing the things that cause the injuries, but I’m just thinking I could have a degree in podiatry by now. Tomorrow begins the detox diet! I have a shiatsu massage at 10am. I am so psyched for that. I’ve only started to realize the value of that stuff in the past couple years; I grew up with my parents’ reasoning: why would you pay so much money for something so temporary and intangible? But now I know it’s more like: what’s a clear mind and healthy body worth? Hell, I should be going every week. Time for weekend! Bye.Jenni P.S. I told Scotty I’m going to try to post photos regularly on girl about town. I will do my best! If someone knows of a script to accept and post attachments from email in php, you should let me know so I can send them directly from my phone. Work and freelancing have beaten all thoughts of further web-things from my brain.
