excessive cuteness

Hi there!

I should update this. OK! So the news of the week is detoxing. You may not want to hear about all of this, but that is your problem, not mine.

I started Saturday with the shiatsu massage. Holy crap. Afterwards, I wished I had a ride home, because I was pretty fuzzy and out of it. As far as I recall, no traffic incidents ensued. I should check the news.

Before the massage, we did the whole health history thing. I spend a lot of time thinking I’m pretty messed up, which shouldn’t surprise you. I guess I need confirmation sometimes that I’m not. So we went over eating and exercise and sleeping habits, all of which are healthier than average, and then it took her forever to find my pulse. She told me all the cardio work had paid off. That made me very happy.

I’ve never had shiatsu before, and I was down with all of it except the part where they yank your fingers and toes to snap them. Even the noise made me cringe. Also, where she massaged under my ribs, because it was an ooky sensation. I think my liver was happier to be left alone. Otherwise, I loved it, and I will be back again.

Since then, I’ve been eating only fresh, organic fruit and vegetables, and some legumes and grains (lentils, beans, and flax). I’ve even stopped chewing gum because it has chemicals, and I’m a perfectionist. I made hummus and tomato sauce and even invented a recipe so good I’d eat it if I wasn’t following the strictest of diet plans this week. It’s lentils, black beans, roma and sundried tomatoes, zucchini, and yellow squash. I love it. I’ve also been drinking so much water I’m like a roman fountain. I’ve never spent so much time in the bathroom in my life. Yesterday I drank at least 4 liters of water. I’m pretty sure my body’s in shock from that.

The upside of the detox, so far, is that I feel great. I thought maybe the lack of caffeine and limited protein would make me slow, but I have more energy than usual. Sunday morning I jumped out of bed and went to the Y first thing, which never happens. I hate working out in the morning. I’ve been exercising hard and feeling strong.

The downside is the peeing, because it occupies so much of my day, as well as the cold. That’s surprised me, because I didn’t think it would happen so fast: but because it’s the kind of food that your body just uses up fast, I’m not generating heat anymore. I’m miserably cold in what used to be a way-too-hot office. That, and the fact I miss the people at the coffeeshop, is why this will only last a week.

Another really suprising effect is that I’m not hungry. That’s really not like me at all. Not that I’m complaining.

I don’t have a lot of other news, really. This weekend I took a lot of time for myself and meditated and knitted and took baths. So relaxing. I also furniture-shopped to no avail, because I’m too damn picky. It’s funny how I can go out and spend eight million dollars on clothes so easily, but can’t find a dresser anywhere I can stand.

Last night I finally got around to a ton of updating on 404lab, because I had a stack of 250 emails waiting. One of them was from the head designer at marvel.com, wanting to submit their 404 page. I love that!

Also, in case you missed it, Scotty has BABIES!!

Bye!
Jenni
