101 Things v2 Progress Report: May 2013

Begin Date: April 4, 2013
End Date: December 31, 2015
Items Completed: 8

I finished 6 items in May 2013!

#54 Do the MN Aidswalk again

#61 Learn to brew beer (We’ve already bottled two batches, and will start another after Vegas.)

#70 Put in a perennial garden around the birdbath, in our old firepit (I planted shasta and painted daisies, some bulbs, and a couple other perennial flowers. I may add more, but I want to let them get established for a bit. It looks good!)

#71 Fix the dents in the basement stairwell (I couldn’t find a putty knife, so I used a spatula. I’m good at home repairs, obviously.)

#74 Get a new hammock (I used my stockpiled Amazon gift certificates, because I’m cheap. It would be nice if it stopped raining so we could use it.)

#77 Replace the stupid bushes in front of the house with pampas grass (Done! Buying a good digging shovel saved me a ton of time. It doesn’t look like much yet, but at least those crappy bushes are gone. I’m not positive all the grass will make it since it was shipped super-early and had to stay alive inside for a few weeks, but we’ll see.)

New items added to my list:

#84 Kayak in 20 new places

#85 Have the full tailgating sporting event experience three times

Items currently in progress:

#9 Write 5 more posts with travel advice on Runaway Truck [1/5] (A Review of TSA Precheck)

#31 Finish my granny square blanket (I have 110 squares done! 20 more to go, then the joining.)

#34 Try 40 new recipes [9/40] (Belgian Carrot Soup with (un)MeatballsCheesy Grits with Spring VegetablesCrunchy Cashew Thai Peanut SaladTofu Skewers with Jerk Sauce, Seitan NegimakiTofu Popcorn Chick’n)

#67 Update my web dev skills to the current era (I’ve been working almost exclusively on my ASP.NET MVC project at work, so I’m getting there. I need to be better with jQuery and Ajax, though.)

# 99 Put $20 towards debt payoff/savings for each completed task on this list, and $50 for each non-completed task ($140)

#100 Pay myself back for the unfinished items on my last list ($20 of $1120)

Here’s the full list.
