Am I posting three days in a row? This is nothing short of miraculous!
I have exciting news, and I hate letting it all pile up until I have to write a short novel. I have trouble being succinct, obviously. BIG NEWS #1:We booked our flight to Anchorage today. June 30 – July 9. We were in Hawaii last Fourth of July, and we’ll be in Alaska this year. That’s so awesome. Extra-awesome is the fact that my ticket cost $19.60! BIG NEWS #2:
Today Jane and I went on a mission. I had called Block E yesterday to inquire about the possibility of setting up a table for a fundraiser in their space, and found out I have to mail a letter and wait for approval et cetera. Well, the problem word there is ‘wait’, of course. We walked over to the IDS Center, and I went to the concierge desk to ask for a phone number for building management. Who should be standing there but the woman who’s in charge of making those arrangements? She was excited! She told us she wanted to do the 3-day herself, but didn’t have time. She basically told us we could do it whenever we want, we just need to fill out their waiver and have our signage approved beforehand. We need a couple weeks to get our supplies together, so it’ll probably be the second week in March. We’ll be selling pink wristbands, and cookies in the shape of ribbons. I will let you know when we’ll be there, because I would love it if you local-types stopped by to say hi. As we left, Jane said, “Man, you’re lucky!” I told her it had nothing to do with luck. It’s all about persistence. Last night was VB.NET class, in which I learned how easy it is to write Notepad, and therefore I want to write my very own Notepad. Just because I can! My application last night had a help menu with ‘Ask Tom for Help’, and there were two options: quietly and loudly. They would pop up different alerts with varying degrees of insistence depending on what you choose. Give me the tools to create things, and I will make something stupid. We got out of class early (I like to pretend he was being merciful, knowing we’ll be in class for HOURS on Saturday), so I still had time to get to the gym. Superdoublesecretbonus. Tonight I stayed late at work and pushed the new version of our software live. It took 45 minutes to get it running on three client sites, which is a new world record. I have to go to the last one tomorrow night, and then I intend to go out and celebrate… what else? Awesomeness. OK, I have another date with the YMCA now. I’d bore you with the exciting details of why working out while detoxing is the best feeling in the universe, but I’m being merciful, too. Til tomorrow?? Maybe?

q:Were we twins seperated at birth? Im just wondering cuz I also have an insatiable need to travel. I love to take photos, I have hypoglycemia, red hair, live in minnesota, love office supplies and I receive word of the day emails from Merriam-Webster. So bizarre. Thanks for sharing the source of your scone recipe BTW. :-) I enjoy your thought-to-prose postings. a: Gemini = twins. Maybe?? You should email me! |
