Good morning, sunshine.
First and most importantly, SAVE THE DATE for the bowling fundraiser. It’s going to be awesome. We now have over $800 in raffle prizes; First Ave called a couple days ago to tell me they’re donating tickets. Woohoo! In other 3day news, we’ll be at Block E next Friday, April 7, from 5-8pm. We’ll be selling pink wristbands and chocolate truffles, as Mrs Fields has a lockdown on cookie-sales in the building (no, seriously). Come say hi! We have a new teammate, Amanda, which brings us up to 10 members. I’ve already calculated out the implications: we’ll automatically be raising $25,000, as long as everyone hits their miminums. Time to raise the goal, no?!? Really, I do other things than fundraising. Like, um, work. I forgot to mention that this past Sunday was the last day to skate at the Depot. SAD. I’ve been watching the process as they clear the ice out of the building; the zamboni is parked in the lot with my car now. I guess there’s always rollerdome, but it’s not the same. Time for the ice skates to move back into my apartment. We started the ASP.NET portion of class on Tuesday, and OH MY GOD I’m so excited about it. I went home and started rewriting the administration for 404lab.com, including migrating the database from Access to SQL Server. I can’t wait to have that all redone; it’ll allow people to submit links right to the database, report dead links, and I’ll just have to go in and approve/deny everything. So much better than the current system, which involves a hell of a lot of email. Hey, I wrote the thing years ago! Last night I did superexciting things like go to the laundromat, the gym (I’ve lost 5lbs in 2 weeks!), and home to start packing and take the online Jeopardy tryouts with the rest of Team Awesome. I’m totally not going to make it onto Jeopardy, but it was funny that we were all sitting there diligently typing answers in the short 15 seconds we were allotted. I’m heading to Washington DC tomorrow afternoon for the Cherry Blossom Festival. Same as last year, my dad’s out there working for a month, so free hotel! I’m excited about things like the Spy Museum and that scary medical museum and the best Mexican restaurant in the universe, but mostly I’m really glad to finally get to see the cherry blossoms. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. Expect forty million photos when I return. OK, it’s productivity time. I’ll be back Monday night. See you then! Jenni
