Ohhhhh, spending the beginning of spring indoors is killing me, ugh.
So, I don’t have much in the way of big! exciting! news! today, but I do have some photos, because of course I can never wait to just publish them all in my travel journal. Plus when they’re on that site they’re small, whereas here I can make them big-like. Therefore, I present: DC photos, mostly cherry blossoms SKELETON BABIES FROM HELL If you’re easily freaked-out, you should skip the latter. It’s a ton of gross stuff, including dead babies, from the National Museum of Health and Medicine at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, which is gloriously creepy and therefore highly recommended. Since I’ve been to DC a lot, I’m probably going to pass on doing the full rundown on the travel journal, and just post a ton of photos and writeups of my favorite things. In the meantime, here is a synopsis!- The cherry blossom festival was unbelievable. If you ever get the opportunity, go. It’s really impossible to show how beautiful they are in photos.
- BEST MEXICAN FOOD EVER: Andale and Rosa Mexicano. Chile rellenos stuffed with spinach, goat cheese, pine nuts, and raisins. Yam and pumpkin seed puree. Pomegranate margaritas. Oh my god.
- The aforementioned medical museum.
- Miles and miles of walking. So awesome.
- Shopping (helloooo, Diesel) and dining in Georgetown: Papa Razzi has awesome pizza.
- Edgar Allen Poe’s house in Baltimore.
- Seeing the things I hadn’t before, like the inside of the Library of Congress, and the smaller museums.
- I missed Ben this time! I guess we only have a two-year tradition.
- Spending 6 hours at Reagan airport because of that storm; I got home at 2am Monday night.
