then this happened!

(I’m going to start titling all my posts and photos with that.)

Today we’re going with mostly photos? Why? Because THIS HAPPENED. So I’m not typing very well right now.

Grilled vegetables for enchiladas. Rick Bayless posted the recipe on Twitter. Go nerds!

Red Bull skydivers at Flugtag

Antoine Walker in a sombrero, of course

We heard that Flugtag attracted 90,000 people! That’s pretty amazing. I’d believe it, based on the fact that T-Mobile’s networks were so overloaded we couldn’t even text or call anyone to find them while we were there. We had a great time, though, and have the sunburn to prove it.

Anybody lose this?

In the evening, we dined at Grumpy’s and then went to Hennepin Stages to hear the Twins’ scorer talk about ballpark history in the Twin Cities. It was seriously fascinating, and good to see the number of sports nerds willing to go do something educational on a Saturday night. We then went to Bradstreet, and to catch the Aquatennial fireworks just as they started. After that, we went to the Ugly Mug (because it was nearest to where we were at the time). The bartender met us on the street and brought us to the bar for free shots because he liked Matt’s musical taste. Awesome.

We met Doran and a group of his friends there. Then there were air conditioner photos in the upstairs club. Yeah, I don’t know either. It wasn’t our idea.

Sunday, we went to ARC for glassware, REI for a return, Menards for garden supplies, and Midtown for the makings for delicious Caribbean food.

carrots in love

Matt made brown down for dinner, and I’m pretty sure it was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. SO GOOD. (He’ll be posting recipes for that and the above enchiladas soon, too. Share the love and all that.)

There was the garden work, too, which was only briefly interrupted by me smashing my finger and bleeding on the landscape fabric. I’m hoping to get more done tonight, and then hopefully there will be more pictures. And eventually, even plants!

P.S. I’m really glad I taught myself to crochet again. You can’t knit with a dead zombie finger.
