also, have tacos!

DUDES I’M ULTRAPRODUCTIVE!! All I can manage in the way of recap, therefore, is an awesome list:

  1. romantic dinner at Grumpy’s where we discussed Van Halen a lot
  2. karaoke at the Vegas Lounge with Wendy
  3. Gophers game at Mariucci, where they beat the Badgers 4-2 and our jaws dropped so hard it hurt; seeing them hugging after the game was probably the happiest thing ever!
  4. Jack Brass CD release show at the Varsity (the opening band, Gold Standard, was fantastic as well); we left early because, jesus christ, how much can they possibly charge for drinks?
  5. a brief stop at Big 10, to discover they weren’t serving food anymore
  6. a delightful visit to Santana’s, which we haven’t frequented in far too long
  7. helping Wendy move to an apartment 4 blocks from mine!
  8. watched the first period of the Gophers game at home so we could enjoy pantsfreedom for a while
  9. watched the rest of the Gophers game at Lyle’s, where Matt got presents, including his free Lyle’s can coozy
  10. went to Whiskey Junction to see a Heart cover band with Wendy, Cindi, Klein, Pete, and Christa; the crowd there was SPECTACULAR
  11. Klein chased me out of the bar trying to hug me; I screamed a lot and ran away
  12. baked Matt a ginger peach upside-down cake
  13. had dinner at Rock Bottom
  14. went to wrestling at First Ave, something I’ve been dying to do forever; it was far, far more entertaining than I’d ever have expected
  15. got kicked out of the Entry!
  16. visited the ice bar at the Chambers, met King Louie, and acted like assholes because Channel 11 news was there
  17. did very little last night but watch Rock of Love and make us some grilled cheese

Life, it is good. And my flu-remnants are 90% gone!

I told Matt about the Secret Vacation on Sunday, so now I can tell you! We’re going to MEXICO, specifically Puerto Vallarta. That decision was a very complex combination of hotel availability (I have a voucher from my parents for a free stay in resorts all over the universe), flight cost and convenience (who knew Northwest flew there direct?), and how awesome it would be to go somewhere I’d been obsessed with as a kid because it was a stop on the Love Boat. Ok, not as much the last one, but still. I didn’t really know anything about PV, but from what I’ve read, I’m impressed.

We’re leaving at 9:30am on May 10 (our 1.5-year anniversary!), arriving at 1:30pm, staying at the Sheraton Buganvilias for four nights, and then we’re flying back Wednesday evening. It’s pretty much perfect, and we have plans to do things like ride dune buggies, tour a tequila factory, take a water taxi to a tiny romantic island, have margaritas at the bar in the swimming pool, and spend as much time as possible in the ocean. I can’t wait.

And now, dudes, I have to wrap stuff up so I can go see me a basketball game. Later!

Jenni
