I keep thinking it’s going to be warm every day, and when it’s not, I ponder the fact that we’re going to Mexico in two months, closely followed by camping. That pretty much fixes everything!

Here is this weekend in list-form (stolen from LJ), since I’m too lazy to type about all of it:

  1. took the cats to their new home in Isanti
  2. went to Lyle’s for dinner
  3. went dancing at the 90s, where we ordered a Melotini and thankfully did not foist it on the dude wearing a Carmelo Anthony jersey
  4. had brunch at 2pm at the Uptown
  5. went tubing at Buck Hill
  6. played a lot of Smarty Pants (my mom got it for Matt for his birthday!)
  7. did dirty things
  8. watched futbol
  9. went to deal with my apartment (I wanted to clean up all the cat-related stuff so I wouldn’t be sad anymore, and gather up all the linens and such to take to the cleaners)
  10. drank some rum we bought in Grand Cayman
  11. played more Smarty Pants with Matt and Cindi
  12. did more dirty things

The cat thing was really hard, but I’m very glad for how it all turned out. After Craigslist scared the hell out of me, I spent a couple days worrying about what might possibly happen if a stranger adopted my pets. I asked if we could bring them to their new house so that I could see it and meet the family. That was the right decision, because now I know that they’re great people, and the cats have found a very good home. Their new owner emailed yesterday to say that Cocoa had taken over the place, and was already sitting on their laps (even their little boy, which is fantastic). Chiva is still being the scaredy-cat she is, but I’m sure she’ll warm up and be standing on them in no time. I’m so happy for them.

It was weird going back to my apartment alone last night. I have habits to break, like blocking the door with my leg when I walk in so they don’t run out, or going for the pantry to feed them. It’s sad, and very strange to not see them there. I know it’s for the best, though.

Last night, I went to see Jon at Uptown Tattoo for a consultation on my new piece. He’s going to try to get me in next week, which is very exciting. I’d thought I might have to wait til after vacation! Also, I successfully canceled my internet service through Comcast (though I still have to bring them the modem; I attempted to do so last night, and their Richfield store was packed full of angry-looking customers), and my wireless is heretofore free, assuming the City of Minneapolis keeps that network running. SCORE. Man, I hate Comcast.

Matt and I made awesome burritos and tostones (technically, tostones and platanos) for dinner, then I knitted, we finished our puzzle, played Smarty Pants, and then held hands and went to sleep in separate beds it was time to stop being so gay. We’ll probably have to go pick up hookers and steal a car tonight to make up for it. Thankfully, we’re versatile!

Happy Tuesday!
Jenni
