i’m going to be cold from now til jamaica.

Jamaica’s in 69 days, by the way. AWWYEAH.

Yesterday, I managed to stay indoors for the entire day, except for the 10 minutes or so it took us to shovel. This was preceded by the 15 minutes it took me to get ready to shovel, during which I donned my full-body long underwear, thermal pants, knee-high socks with wool socks on top (which made my boots way too tight), and my supersexy hat and Gophers scarf. It turns out that playing broomball left me with something other than frostbite and horrifying bruises: I own a lot of good cold-weather clothing.

I also made squash soup. I didn’t have coriander, so I used some curry powder, chili powder, and a bunch of garam masala. I can’t believe how good it was.

And now it’s snowing again, so I’m considering stopping at the tire shop on the way home. See, I’d always heard about rear-wheel-drive cars in winter being not that great with handling in the snow. What I didn’t hear specifically was about 400HP rear-wheel-drive cars in the snow, and how way too much torque doesn’t equal bad handling so much as wheels spinning, and you going nowhere. That 120 pounds of softener salt in the trunk doesn’t seem like it’s going to do the trick.
