trash bags, son.

I paid my state taxes today. I only owed $48, but there was no way I was volunteering that money early. I had to use approximately 47 forever stamps (well, 3), because this is everything you have to send them:

  1. Form M1, Minnesota Individual Income Tax
  2. Form M1W, Minnesota Income Tax Withheld (don’t they get a copy of my W2??)
  3. A copy of my federal return, which, including schedules A, C, and SE: 6 pages total
  4. Form M60, Income Tax Return Payment, a slip which tells them I’m enclosing a check
  5. The check itself

Guys! Try harder on that paperwork reduction stuff.

So it’s been a veryvery long time since I posted (one week, to be exact), and that means you get the short list! More bullets!

  • We went to wrestling at First Ave again; you should probably go because it’s the funniest thing ever. We saw a dog collar match. Holy crap.
  • This sums up most of Saturday. Except for the Gophers winning part. I cried a bit, and then realized hockey season starts all over again in October.
  • Went to King & I with Wendy and Cindi and Willis and Katie. I always forget how much that place rules. Great atmosphere, food, drinks, and DJ.
  • Dragged my giant laundry bags to the laundromat in Bloomington; spent $15 to get every textile I own clean. Even my down comforter.
  • Played poker at Klein’s. I’m always proud when I can hold my own. And I broke even, which is saying a lot!
  • Made you an awesome mixtape of everything I want to play on the jukebox right now.
  • Released from work at 3pm due to snow; went to happy hour with Wendy and Stephanie and Matt to prepare for Opening Day!
  • …and the Twins even won!
  • Did a lot of knitting, and I’m working on designing a very useful item for the beach in Mexico.
  • Had a very relaxing night at home with Matt and some burritos we made involving mushrooms and mock duck.
  • Went to the Independent and Suzi’s with Wendy and Matt. Suzi’s doesn’t call it cock night anymore. But I do.

My new tattoo is past the flaking stage, and now it’s doing that itching-due-to-healing thing. You know how they tell you to slap tattoos when they’re itchy? Yeah, pounding on my chest is not spectacular. Not that it’s stopping me. And speaking of the new tattoo, the photo is quickly on its way to being my most-viewed picture on Flickr. It got so much traffic it was on Explore the other day, which is seriously awesome.

Time to get back to work! Apparently I have to go spy on the competition in Shakopee tomorrow. If you don’t hear from me for a while, it’s because I decided to make my living betting on horses at the track.

Happy Thursday!
Jenni
