Done.

Dear Friends:

I’m writing this from the comforts of my new office. Otherwise known as my dining room table.

As expected, I was laid off today. It’s funny, I’m not angry, or even upset. I’ve gone into disaster mode, I guess, which means all action and no emotions. The only really hard thing was saying goodbye to Dave, my officemate of almost three years. We’ve stuck it out through some hellish times. He helped me haul our plants out to my car, because left in his care, they’ll be dead within a week.

Anyway, I’m at home working up the contingency plan and trying not to think about the fact that my 30th birthday will be spent not unconscious in Amsterdam, but frugally here at home. Besides that, I’m being positive.

And for real this time: I need a job. I’m a web developer with a ton of experience in end-to-end design. My key skills are ASP, SQL, and XML/XSLT. I make really fast, really useable, highly functional applications. If you know anyone who needs somebody like me, please let me know. I’m updating my resume this very second.
