I went over to my house and helped move stuff around to get ready to put it back on the market. We did paperwork today; it should be listed Tuesday.

chico dies in a turn lane
Right in the middle of traffic, he tanked. Apparently the car wash I got him on Wednesday wasn’t good enough for his picky ass. I think he must’ve read my last post about wanting a new car.

So I did what I always do in times of car trouble: 1) cry, 2) call AAA, 3) call my dad for advice. The tow-truck driver was awesome. He had a blonde ponytail, days-old stubble, and a dirty baseball cap. He had good repair shop advice, and on the way there he told me his theory about why women can multitask and men cannot. He also yelled ‘SHIT!’ about 10 times, for no reason I could determine.

waiting for my car
Turns out Chico decided to melt his ignition discharge module. If you’re in the market for one, expect to pay $700, including labor. The repair shop was really great, so I’m gonna go ahead and recommend you visit Car Care Advanced Service Center if you ever have a dead Saab in the hinterlands. I’m always impressed when they field my million probing questions and don’t treat me like a stupid girl.

I know what you’re thinking. Hahaha.

The car stuff hardly mattered after this!! They’re beautiful.

disaster averted
I woke up to find this table knocked over, obviously by the cats dashing around last night. I couldn’t believe the crashing of the very heavy planter didn’t wake me up, and I expected to find a mess. Then I saw they had somehow orchestrated it so the tree fell into the padded cat bed. The dirt didn’t spill or anything.

I should rent them out for stunts.

walkin’ shoes, r.i.p.
My walking shoes finally died. I estimate I got close to 1,000 miles out of them, what with the training and the 3day itself. It’s sad to see them go.

We attended the 3day expo this morning, and it was so great to be back in that environment. I remember going to the first orientation and thinking all the excitement was cheesy and cringe-worthy, but having been involved, I’m totally won-over. This is a life-changing event, and I can’t say enough good things about how well it’s organized. I’m excited to be on the crew side of it (twice!) this year, but watching our 2004 video made me want to walk again. Next year!

Team Plinko would like to organize some sort of fundraising event, and it would be awesome to have other 3day walkers/crew involved. Wendy, I’m talking to you, girl.

OK, I have to rush now because I’m going to see the Kings of Leon tonight at the Fine Line, which seems to have recovered well from its burning-down. So here are a couple pictures from a few weeks ago I found on my phone as well.
