I am back!
I have returned from the tropics with a creative-looking tan/burn, 15 pounds of extra luggage, severe jet-lag, 400 photos and many, many stories. Since it will take me some time to compile my travel journal, I pulled out 18 of my favorite pictures. It was supposed to be ten, but I failed miserably. FYI, these are 800×600, most around 150k. Shopping at Shirokiya, the Japanese department store 2. Meandering through the little surf town of Paia, Maui 3. Seeing black sand beaches 4. Hiking 5+ miles through lava fields to see Kilaueia dumping lava into the ocean 5. Trying poi for the first and only time in my life 6. Swimming in the ocean between Maui and Lanai 7. Hiking Sliding Sands Trail above the clouds on Haleakala 8. Watching fireworks from the boardwalk in Lahaina 9. Wandering Waikiki with flowers in my hair And, my shiningest moment in Hawaii: 10.
