Sooooooo, let’s start writing tonight and see how far we get, shall we? I’m a-sleepy!

Last week, I went to Barnes & Noble and picked up the book with the chapter about my site in it. The girl working there helped me find it on the shelves, then helped me find my name. I jumped up and down and then called my mom, who sent my dad out to the Eagan store to get it. It’s just a couple of pages, but it’s kind of awesome to see it all fo-real like that, after an email out of the blue many months ago. I’ve been paying attention to the book-tour schedule, because it would be great to meet Mr Ian Urbina in person and get it signed.

Last week, my mom made us go get family pictures, because the whole family was in town. We were really not down with this idea, but we did for for mom. Kaye will not stop laughing at me about this, just like she will not stop laughing at me for painting my nails or for when she has to apply my makeup at Halloween-time, which, after a long-running stint of three weeks, is finally over. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves here.

Last week, I decided I was going to try to not spend much money this month. I figured it was a good challenge. I put $2,500 aside from my check; I think I’m probably only going to manage $2k, but that’s alright. It’s going to cover what I spend in Europe, and the remainder goes into my IRA #2. After that, the rest of Christmas shopping will occur, which means all financial-responsibility bets are off until January.

Last week, Josh bought us dinner at Luce, we killed time killing zombies at Gameworks, then we saw Disturbed at First Ave. The show was good, but the all-ages thing has got to go. I came home smelling like 15-year-old boy, and I’d say ‘and not in a good way’ about that, but there IS no good way to smell like a 15-year-old boy. Blech.

Last week, I saw Jarhead and cried for a substantial portion of the movie just because I can’t deal with the military at all. The cruelty and bloodthirst and animal behavior. It’s really upsetting. I also saw the penguin movie for the third time, and I still squirm with cuteness over those fat baby penguins.

Last week, I put on the St Pauli Girl costume again and Kaye dressed as Conformity (+50 points if you know who I’m talking about) and we went to Sean’s party, for the third and final weekend of Halloween. There were some amazing costumes there. We saw a guy who was a dead-on Johnny Depp as Willie Wonka, and a guy who was a toy soldier, who went so far as to strap his feet to a wooden platform. The baby in the little elephant costume with tusks was my favorite. Surprisingly, my costume won the contest. I guess I have to credit the boobs yet again. They’re the main feature. Ha!

Last week, also at the same party, rumors were confirmed that there are now two couples who have gone out as a result of meeting at the party at Kaye’s. Do you know how completely awesome that is? Tis the season, obviously.

Last week, I got the sad Rollergirls gossip from Mahogany, I got a new shorter (therefore curlier) haircut, I had a REALLY good Cuban brunch with Adrianne (I’ve been craving a cortadito ever since), I was really, really groggy on Sunday because of this stupid overcast weather, and I had a most jarring moment when I went to remove my outside-windowboxes: AAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!

I shall decline to share with you the rest of Friday and Sunday evenings, because that is just none of your damn business, my friends. I’m feeling completely spoiled, however, and it’s wonderful. This is all very surprising, in the best possible way. Tis the season!

I haven’t had time to answer questions yet, so you can still submit them! Also, to my fellow merit-scholar who left a note for me, please email me and tell me who you are! I’m dying to know. I still have that photo from the paper in a scrapbook somewhere.

OK, I think that’s it for tonight. In two weeks, I will be in Budapest. I am perhaps freaking out just a little.

No bedbugs tonight. Not after that photo.
Jenni
