SUCCESS.

Happy Monday, everyone. Ouch.

I’m going to try to do the Bowling for the Cure wrapup, but there’s just so much I want to say about it, I’m sure I’ll forget a lot.

  • First of all, thank you to everyone who came to the event. We appreciate it so much. I hope you had a good time; from what I’ve heard, we all did!! Also, thank you to everyone who helped out that day.

  • We made over $1,500!! We paid off all our expenses (food and beer) within the first hour. I can’t believe how well-prepared we were. Everything went perfectly. When the first group walked through the door at 4pm, we all panicked, because it was for real.

  • We got listed in Citypages and on a few Twin Cities blogs. Even people we didn’t know showed up!

  • We met the two newest members of the team we hadn’t previously met. Amanda and Heather rock. Our team is the best.

  • We’ll be doing the raffle drawing tonight, and I’ll hopefully have a chance to call/email everyone about it tonight. We’ll either mail or deliver prizes in person.

  • We had a couple requests to buy our team tshirts, because they rule. Therefore, we present: THE BOOBYLICIOUS STORE!

  • I’m still a little upset over seeing my mom eagerly playing bingo-for-beer. Haha. OK, it was totally cute how my parents came and hung out for a couple hours, and how all my friends spent time talking to them. That’s so awesome.

  • Come to think of it, I don’t even know how many people were there, but it was more than I expected, and all the bowling lanes were full all night. We sold hundreds of raffle tickets.

  • Mark took us back to see the behind-the-scenes at the bowling alley. ROCK. We also got to tag the walls with our names.

  • I love Team Awesome. I might even marry them, although that’s illegal in all 50 states.

  • When I saw Chele come down the stairs, I jumped up and down with excitement. If you didn’t know, my walk is dedicated to her and her absolute coolness.

  • I have many pictures. By far, our team picture is the best. It makes me sniffly!! (Thanks to Wendy for posting it; she has many more on Flickr.)

The rest of the weekend was kinda crazy and flew by. Friday night, I spent a good portion of the evening on the floor behind the bar with Cindi, drinking something that was like moonshine, only better (and a hell of a lot more painful the next day). Because of that hangover, I almost threw punches at people at the party store for lookin’ at me funny when I went for pink balloons, until I realized I was wearing a tshirt with ‘boobylicious’ on it. Oops.

Yesterday two people test-drove Chico, and I really hope one of them works out, for a couple different reasons. I finally have a date with grabass boy, and I keep laughing over what he’ll think when he finds out I’ve been referring to him as grabass boy, although I totally know he’ll be fine with it. Wendy and Stephanie and I did a nine-mile training walk through lovely Eagan, and I got sunburnt on my neck: LAME. My new Mizuno shoes are superawesome and worth every cent.

I’m having what looks to be a really big Cinco de Mayo party, so I’ve gone from fundraiser-obsessing to party-obsessing. I love that I don’t even have to ask Kaye for decorating help, she just knows she’ll be in charge of that. My dad and I are going to make a little platform to fit over my stovetop so I can use it as a food table, and we’re going to get some kind of creative floor-pillow seating arrangements for the living room, because the Christmas party was definitely at-or-beyond fire capacity as far as the living room was concerned. Also, we’re totally going to beat up pinatas in the park. Fingers crossed for no police involvement in that escapade.

As usual, I’m running out of time, and I have raffling to do tonight. I hope to be speaking to some of you about that soon!!

Jenni
