So it’s been a while since I updated, as usual. You already know all about the crazy amounts of travel and the fact that I’ve now visited all fifty states. And now our only upcoming trips are to Vegas in February and our honeymoon in Europe in the spring, so I can talk about other things for a while!
Um.
(Seriously, once the travel was over I had to sit down and make a list of everything I’d been putting off for weeks because I didn’t have the brain space to deal with it. I caught up on a ton of that while Matt was in Indianapolis.)
One thing I was really excited about was my return to regular knitting. I’ve been working on my intense lace project for the past week. It’s really slow with the crochet-hook beading, but I’m still glad I didn’t sit around stringing over a thousand beads at the beginning of the project. I’d heard that they could make the yarn so heavy it breaks.
Saturday, I went to Big 10 with Cindi, Wendy, and Amelia to watch the Gophers game. As their stupid team had trounced the Gophers football team earlier that day, Badgers fans had taken over campus and all the bars. We exhibited profound self-restraint in not engaging them, and it was very satisfying to see our hockey team (which is at least 450% better than our football team) destroyed them immediately after they carried Paul Bunyan’s axe into the arena.
That was the first chance I’d had to actually watch a full game on TV, because of our travel schedule. Holy crap, I missed it like crazy. (Our neighbors probably didn’t miss the stomping and yelling.) This Saturday will be the first game we get to see live, and I can’t wait. I’ll probably cry when the national anthem starts, like always. Shut up.
The rest of the past week has just been glorious back-to-normality. Bowling league, date night, Christmas shopping, insanely detailed Thanksgiving planning. (We’ll have ten people at our house this year. Exciting!) I’m looking forward to more of that in the upcoming weeks.
Also, I just now realized that I haven’t edited half of my Boston pictures. I should probably get on that.
