HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CHOCOLATE MUSSOLINI, WHICH TURNS FOUR YEARS OLD TODAY!
Me, I’m turning 11 for the third time. Yesterday, we had birthday dinner at the parents’ house. My mom made me The Brick (my traditional sugarfree birthday cake), and we ordered out. In a very surprising turn of events, they gave me money to put towards my skydiving outing. I think my mom was just happy I wasn’t getting another tattoo for my birthday. The best part? Kaye and Wendy came over to celebrate, and sat around talking to my parents. My friends rock really fucking hard, dudes. When I got home last night, I discovered that MIGUEL GOT A BIRTHDAY PRESENT TOO. The contents include:1 Business card case with Mini cards to hand out to folks
2 The roadside assistance card that means I don’t have to pay for AAA anymore
3 ‘Idiosyncracies of your new Mini’, which I already knew from reading the manual because I’m like that
4 The MINI MESSAGING KIT, which has a bunch of pre-written signs in it (I have my favorite one showing, of course)
5 The Unauthorized Owner’s Manual, which includes a section on HOW TO MAKE OUT IN THE BACKSEAT OF MIGUEL
6 Two interstate bingo cards
7 A travel journal
8 A floaty pen with a little Mini driving from California to New York. So, um, was Miguel the perfect car for me or what? Hell yes. This morning, Suzanne came running into work with birthday-fixin’s, so it wouldn’t be surprising at all to find me sitting at my desk in about an hour, eating sugarfree ice cream with a giant spoon directly from the container. Apparently we’re ordering lunch, then later going to happy hour at Kieran’s. And after that? Dinner at Chiang Mai, then party on the rooftop deck at Stella’s. Tomorrow, we’re heading to the party-cabin for the weekend. I’ll save the details about all of this awesomeness til afterwards, but I already know that spending the whole weekend with almost all of my very favorite people in the world is going to be the best birthday I could possibly ever want. Pardon the cheesiness while I mention that this has been the most fantastic and memorable year of my life, and almost all of that is due to the people I know and love. See you next week, dudes!!
