OH, HOW TO BEGIN?
Without question, I had the best birthday weekend possible, and that is entirely due to the fact that I have the awesomest friends anyone could be lucky enough to wish for, not to mention an intense dedication to the pursuit of all things convivial. Rather than try to detail it all, I will point you first to the manymanymany PARTY-CABIN PHOTOS. Thursday post-work, Jane and Suzanne took me to Kieran’s for happy hour. We were joined by Peter, who sported creative facial hair JUST for my birthday, then Kirby, who happened to wander out of work at exactly the right time, then Cindi, who arrived with a gift of three pairs of frilly-butt panties from SexWorld, then Matt, who followed up with the unfair dynamite. A raucous outdoor-drinking time was had by all, and then Suzi drove Cindi and Matt and I to Chiang Mai to meet the rest of the crowd. I had RSVPed for eight, and it ended up looking more like 14 or so. Oh well! After dinner, we traipsed across Lake Street to Stella’s, which I’ve never set foot in because it’s a fish place, but I discovered that they do actually have one of the best rooftop decks in town, and the service was awesome. You have to appreciate a waiter who will do a shot with you (no less a shot called ‘the nipple’), just to make it an even baker’s dozen of shotglasses. AWESOME. Saturday morning I retrieved Miguel from the spot I’d abandoned him in downtown, did some last-minute erranding, and we were off! TO THE PARTY-CABIN! We had a Friday-afternoon caravan across Wisconsin consisting of me, Kaye, Bill, Katie, and Cindi. We arrived around 5ish and quickly got the party started. Sean, Christine, Wendy, and Stephanie arrived much later that night. Saturday, Mollie and Dave showed up mid-afternoon. Since the pictures pretty much tell the whole (completely awesome) story, I won’t go into it here; suffice it to say that it was the best birthday-weekend of all time, and I didn’t want it to end. And now I have a date with the gym, with an interview about Dodgeball (haha, yes!), and then with Kayepants, homemade mac-and-cheese, and Mommie Dearest. HELL YES! And again, muchas gracias to everyone who celebrated with me, for there were very many of you, and you are all my very favorite, fo’real. Jenni
