Another camping season opener has come and gone, and it was excellent. We had our usual good combination of settin’ around the campfire, hiking in nature, dancing on a picnic table, playing games, and being awesome.
We even made some improvements this year, too: a Minnesota flag, the screen room and tarp Josh and Jumi brought to keep us safe from rain, a pinata, and the Camping Decathlon, complete with title belt.
Oh, and some Goldschlager electrical-taped to a tree. These things happen in Wisconsin.
Prior to camping, Matt and I saw the Prizefighters, Maddie Ruthless, and the Forthrights at the Terminal Bar. The last time we were there it was not great, but this totally redeemed it. On Memorial Day, we went to Canterbury and bet on some horses while getting a tan, then had dinner on the patio at Town Hall Brewery. It was pretty much the perfect holiday weekend.
Tonight Matt’s parents will be staying with us, and we’re hoping to check out Wise Acre. I notice it had opened last week while I was at the gym, and it’s been driving me crazy that we haven’t made it in an entire week. I will report back!

The #1 threat to Goldschlager…Bears! Good thinking by taping it up off the ground.
