Today is Hockey Day and I can’t sit still!!
Dearest readers, please forgive me for pasting from my livejournal, but here is what happened Monday night, and I can’t possibly describe it any better than I already have.cin and i went to see the eagles of death metal and joan jett at first ave. i was safely piloting us at-or-under the speed limit down 7th street when she yelled OHMYGODTHEREHEIS!!!!at that point, we executed a nascar/(possibly-)demo-derby-style race into the parking ramp, then rushed back across the street to find the eagles standing there next to their tour bus, smoking and looking filthily hot, in that way you really don’t want to have to explain to your mother, ever.
i said, “jesse, can i have a hug??” he yelled back, “YEAH, baby!!!!” at that very moment, we turned into squealing 13-year-olds. we are SO going to be talking about this forever at our next sleepover, right after truth-or-dare but before we make pizzas.
here is a photo of cin and jesse making rock hands. here is a photo of jesse onstage, even though we were stuck behind two bleached-blonde joan jett fans who had superglued their forearms to the railing, and had also brought two male yeti to stand behind them and alternately guard and hump their asses while staring at the ceiling in disinterest. also, here is photo evidence to accompany DICKELWATCH: DAY THREE. also also, here is MY money from las vergas, SUCKERS.
so yeah. totally got our dirty dance on. then watched joan jett, who is still painfully hot for being, like, my dad’s age? maybe? and then when she broke out into a countrified song-off-the-omnipresent-new-album called androgyny, i kind of felt like something in the universe had shifted, and we went home.
Tuesday, I went to belly dance class (taking weightlifting and then that two days in a row leads to some awesome new kinds of soreness, btw), and then we had girls’ night at Town Talk, during which I think I had my face covered half the night, I was laughing so hard. We have to make that a regular thing, yo.
Wednesday, Matt and Jumi and I went to see the Hold Steady at First Avenue, and it was the kind of experience that earns it a permanent place amongst your favorite memories ever. And since I can’t really do it better justice than his writeup, you should just go read that, ok? Afterwards, we totally had a run-in with the MAN for chillaxin’ in the wrong place. I’m going to have to work harder if I want to achieve my dream of being a hobo someday. Yesterday was gloriously plans-free; I accomplished the organizing, cleaning, and costume-completion at home, I got a haircut from Mahogany, I did the requisite shopping, and then got harangued by some dudes for not hanging out with them to up their Dodgeball-nerd factor. Also, I dyed my hair the most obnoxious shade of red-orange I could find, just because I can finally do so without fear of the sun bleaching it out right away. So that orange glare you see coming towards you from a couple blocks away? That’s me, dudes. Tonight, as I’ve mentioned, is HOCKEY. The Gophers are playing Colorado College. Have no doubt that today is already the best day ever, as further evidence of which is the fact I just got my bellydance scarf in the mail, and from here on out, I am going to jingle. I’ll be back next week with the Halloween-parties recap, and probably a lot of embarrassing photos. Til then!Jenni
