Why yes, Awesome Christmas was awesome.
(That’s what happens when 12 people give each other gifts that cost no more than $3.)
Bill seemed to like his gifts quite a bit! I’ve been holding onto that clearance-at-Walgreens McCain tshirt forever. God, it was embarrassing to buy it.
(You can see some of the other exciting gifts here.)
Friday night, Matt and I went to go talk with another caterer, and are beyond thrilled with how the meeting went. I’m really looking forward to seeing their menu, because I think it’ll be great. We also hired a photographer, so great strides have been made on the wedding-planning front.
After the meeting, we went to see True Grit at St Anthony Main. We were going to go to Bradstreet afterwards, but somehow it managed to be below zero AND snowing like a mofo outside, so we did the wise thing and went home. We can make pretty great cocktails ourselves, and they don’t cost $10 apiece*.
(*I don’t think we’ve ever been charged for our entire tab at Bradstreet. They’re awesome like that.)
Sunday, I knocked another item off my 101 things list while watching football: the Burridge Lake Aran Afghan. I started it in June 2008! Also, I’m really glad I attached some monetary incentive to my 101 things list, because I’ve already given myself $390, and I’m just over 200 days in. I love that.
For dinner last night, we had a hell of a Thai feast. There was pad thai with both tofu and seitan, fried salt and pepper tofu, and beef and tofu satay with peanut sauce. DELICIOUS.
Tonight we’re making the journey to Eagan for family game night. My brother got us all a giant card game for Christmas, and this will be the first chance we’ve gotten to play it. We’re bringing Apples to Apples, too, because that’s just hilarious.
This week is shaping up to be busy: we have Gophers basketball game, bowling, a couple Gophers hockey games to keep tabs on, a few visits to the gym, a deadline at work, the Lyrics Born show at the Cabooze, and it will all be rounded out with our work Christmas party. If you’ve known me for any length of time, you probably know how that’s going to go. I can’t wait!
