SLUTCAKES!1 box red velvet cake mix (I used Duncan Hines, but only because Target mailed me a coupon)
1 bottle of Jagermeister (you’ll need at least a cup)
1 can frozen cranberry juice concentrate, thawed to room temperature
Make the boxed cupcake mix as stated on the box, but replace the water in the recipe with a mix of Jagermeister and cranberry juice concentrate. (I found that the best-tasting ones had about 95% Jager and 5% cranberry juice. Jagermeister works alarmingly well with red velvet cake.)
Bake cupcakes according to the instructions on the box, and allow to cool. Frosting:1 1/2 c sugar
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1/3 c peach schnapps
2 egg whites
1 tsp clear vanilla extract Place sugar, cream of tartar, peach schnapps, and egg whites in the top of a double boiler*. Beat with a handheld mixer for one minute. Place pan over boiling water and beat constantly on high speed for 7 minutes, at which point your arm will probably have fallen off. (Trust me, I know. But it’s worth it for perfect 7-minute frosting!) Remove from heat and beat in vanilla. Frost cupcakes while the frosting is still warm, because it sets up quickly as it cools. Enjoy your delicious slutcakes! *I don’t own a double boiler. That’s because it’s easy to improvise: fit a larger glass bowl on top of a medium saucepan with an inch or so of boiling water in it. The most important thing is that the water NOT TOUCH the bottom of the glass bowl, or it’ll make your frosting grainy.

The shackin’ up party (much like the rest of the weekend) was fantastic. We had 20+ people there, a fully-stocked bar (complete with 4 new drinks of Matt’s devising), a Drinko game (think Plinko from the Price is Right), jello shot salad, plenty of food, and Guitar Hero. We even got to celebrate Marc’s 29th birthday at midnight. Can somebody check on that dude? I want to be sure he survived the night.
I’m extraordinarily busy, but I’ll try to stop back before the holiday!
