If, in a few weeks, you see a Craigslist ad begging people to come take tomatoes and zucchini off our hands, it was likely posted by me.

The beans are so heavy they’re pulling the trellis off the fence; I think I’ll go back to bamboo teepees again next year!

This is the coriander I got from the cilantro after it went to seed. I kept half of it whole and ground the rest to refill our spice jars.

Earwigs have been a big problem in Minnesota this year. In addition to just being creepy jerks who lurk in the dark, they eat the leaves of plants. Most of our veggies have survived, but they managed to get one of the cauliflowers. I need to go to the garden center for repellant that’s safe to use around vegetables.

This is the time of year when things are the most interesting, too. Some of the plants are finishing their season, and others are just beginning.

I did not plant veggies this year due to the trauma over last years tobacco hornworm infestation and am having some serious planter’s remorse looking at your spread. It’s really gorgeous.
and EW pincher bugs! even after gardening for four years, they are the ones that still give me the willies and make me run.
yeah, i didn’t want to plant corn this year because something ate it last year. but i figure at least i’m prepared for it to happen this time!
those dudes are SERIOUSLY GROSS. plus we have so many here with all the rain that they come inside. blecccccchhhh.
My favorite part of your garden is the gnome.
DIBS!!! Seriously…
you’re on! the tomatoes are all still green at this point, but i’m pretty sure we’re going to have a billion of them.
