i heart boobs.

Happy Last-day-of-work-before-the-cruise-HELL-YES!!

First, a very quick recap of earlier this week:

  • Tuesday, I met Matt at Salut again for the last visit for his article. The bartender, Raj, is fantastic. So is their food. Not so much with the crowd, but I’m kind of charmed by a place where I can sit at the bar with a cappuccino-in-a-bowl and not feel weird about it.

  • At knitting, I finished my knit panties. They are truly awesome.

  • Tuesday was also my two-year friendiversary with Wendy!! My life was significantly less awesome before we joined forces.

  • Wednesday, Matt and I laid on the couch and watched Survivor and an episode of The Thirsty Traveler about pilsner that made me really, really need to go back to Prague. Round about 9:30, we went over to King & I for DJ Nikoless. The crowd at the bar there could not be more entertaining.

Last night was BOOBYLICIOUS TRIVIA!! We had 90 people there, and raised over $900. I really didn’t have a concept of what 90 people looked like until I saw two rooms in the bar totally packed. I doubt we could’ve fit any more in there.

Matt was the emcee, with a set of thirty questions all related to boobs in some way (read them here!). We had a balloon/darts game where people could win several prizes, including two hotel nights, concert tickets, and restaurant gift certificates. We also took breaks during trivia and played ‘heads or tails’, which turned out to be a huge success. I was kind of unsure about how well that would go, but my fears were allayed when I heard the crowd cheering after the first coin-flip. It was so great.

My mom won an ‘i heart boobs’ tshirt in the balloon game, and was mortified about it. Also, there was a couple there who met last summer at the Greenie Century. I love that a lot.

We’re immensely grateful to Hubert’s for donating their space (and their server/bartender for dealing with such a big crowd), as well as all our prize donors. This was such a success, we’ll be doing it again: mark your calendars for May 1st at Hooters in Block E! What could be more appropriate, really?

Tonight I’m going out with Matt, then later on dancing with the girls. Tomorrow is devoted to laundry, packing, having a bon voyage lunch at Lyle’s while watching the Gophers beat Air Force (the military plays hockey? what?) in the first round of the NCAA tournament. After that, I will retreat into seclusion with my boyfriend, because I’ll be up at 3am Sunday to get to the airport. And I will miss him a painful amount, so I’m trying not to think about that.

Dudes, I’ll be back from the Caribbean very late next Sunday night. I will return with hundreds of photos, stories, and hopefully a tan to get a jump on summertime here. See you in April!!
