HEY GUYS IT’S NO-PANTS FRIDAY.
I’m unfortunately 100% pantsed at the moment, but that could change at any time. On Wednesday, thanks to Boobylicious Trivia II, I reached the halfway point in my fundraising. I’d obviously like to aim higher than $3,000, but I think I’ll try to get there first! After work, I went to the eye doctor. I was crabby about having to go in the first place, and then extra-crabby about the fact they double-booked my appointment. I had to sit around for 20 minutes, paging back to the chapter about plane crashes in Stiff, because I had made the smart decision to skip that part last time I was reading it, on the flight back from Ft Lauderdale. Anyway, the doctor ended up being extremely awesome, and he told me that a manufacturing mistake in the 2-week contacts had rendered my dailies half-price; I ended up with a year’s supply for the cost of five months. Also, his assistant and I were sitting around talking about our cats, and I told her about the time Matt’s eyeballs swelled up after petting Chloe. She disappeared and then reemerged with a bag full of anti-eyeball-swelling products for him, too. I love them a lot. In the eveningtide, we were very wholesomely domestic. Matt made dinner, we did laundry, rearranged the bedroom in a very pleasing way, played canasta, and I finished sock one. And then we held hands. Or something. Yesterday, I became an employee. I’ve only worked here for three and a half years, so it was time. I could not be more happy about my medical/dental insurance, or the fact I’ll actually be paid while I’m on vacation again. It was a hard decision, but I know it’s the right thing for me. I’m probably the only person on earth who’s really excited to go to the dentist. Last night, I had dinner with Matt, Cindi, and Wendy at the Bulldog. We had designs on the late pub quiz, but dinner was slow (we didn’t mind, for it was awesome), and we were in the mood for bad decisions. We were at the Otter BEFORE IT WAS DARK OUT, on a weeknight. We played a ton of naked lady photo hunt, Matt and Willis each got to sing twice (um, I’d tell you what my boyfriend singing Vehicle does to me, but that would be improper), and an excellent time was had by all. We even managed to be home before midnight. And now, let us pray for the rain to pass before evening, because we’re grilling at Wendy’s for Quatro de Mayo. We’d be celebrating on el Cinco, but there are far more important plans that day. By which I mean WISCONSIN. Before I go, I have two critically-important questions for you all:- Do Canadians call Jay-Z ‘Jay-Zed’? I cannot stop laughing about this.
- Do you have to adjust your rearview mirror daily like I do? Apparently I sit up straight in the morning, and slouch in the post-meridiem. I can’t possibly be alone in this phenomenon.
