With half an hour left until my haircut, I will talk to you, o internet.
Incredibly awesome things from this weekend: – Ryan’s BBQ, with a ton of great food and much cardplaying. – The Otter, where we always had an extra photo hunt player helping us. Apparently they have a lot of dudes there who are good with naked ladies. – The Dillinger 4 / Arrivals show at Triple Rock. It was proof that not every all-ages show sucks. Also, that the Triple Rock has great dinner food too (I’ve only had brunch there). Also, that I could stand watching D4 every single day. So great. – Celebrating Willis’ birthday; we gave him a bottle of Redbreast and glow sticks. – Sneaky Pete’s (no, I’m totally not kidding at all). – Brunch tailgating: we grilled croissants, french toast, bacon, brats, and apricots. Apparently we were the only people in the city who had this idea. We win. – Playing bocce in the parking lot. We only played to 3 because minivans kept parking around us. – Stitch-n-Pitch at the Twins game. – My knitting achievements. Painfully lame things from this weekend: – Too Much Love at First Ave (of course that’s a link to the ‘Space). You should go check it out if you want to feel like the most self-confident and secure person in the world. Also, if you think fashion that was hot in New York two years ago is neato. Or if the delightful sounds of Paul Oakenfold making snuff porn with ailing robots is your kind of thing. Otherwise, you should run far, far away, and hope you never run into that crew on the street, or they might notice you laughing at their clothes. We ran into the Entry, because a sign I tore off the bathroom wall told me that Stnnng was in there. Wendy, Matt and I took up spots seated along the back wall, while our compatriots were still in the main room with their ears bleeding from five minutes of industrial screeching (I heard the whole dance floor was plugging their ears, but did not witness this phenomenon). I didn’t notice til Matt pointed that the singer was almost straddling my lap. He sat down next to us and sang for a while, then went to sing to the bouncer and the guy in the sound booth. On the way out, I shook POS’ hand. And that made up for the abject retardation of Too Much Love. I went, so you don’t have to. And now it is time for me to go see Mahogany for probably the last time in a while, since she is very much with child. Because everyone’s trying to see her before then, I can’t get an appointment to have my hair dyed. This means that in the next day or two, it’ll be back to ORANGE; if you need to find me in a crowd, please be sure to do so within the next week. Do svidanye!Jenni
