5 workdays to go!! 2

Oh my god, I finally posted my Boston travel journal. I kind of forgot about it for a while. Go read!! And if you go to Boston, please visit all of those awesome establishments. They were uniformly excellent.

I have this rule with my travel journal where I must finish the last one before I go on the next trip. That was close! I almost cancelled our reservations in San Juan*.

Last night, Matt and I headed out to the Mall of America, to which we had not been in some time. We were greeted by a sign on the door informing us that by entering, we consented to have our likeness appear on the television box, by means of a show called Mall Cops: Mall of America. Because 1) I think that’s an incredibly stupid idea, even for a reality show and 2) our only run-in with the mall cops was during the last work Christmas party, where the cop escorted the whole drunk lot of us out the cab stand on a Segway, I was really hoping we didn’t see any cameras. And we didn’t, thank god.

Our primary reason for shopping was to do some tactical exploration for the workmas party this Saturday. We’re not sure we’re going to the mall this year (since we’re staying at a hotel downtown), but it’s a decent theory, due to the closeness of the light rail from the hotel. I now have a list of options complete with prices, just in case.

We then outfitted ourselves for the cruise in Old Navy’s clearance section. I got 4 absolutely perfect lightweight summer shirts and a hoodie, while Matt got a longsleeved shirt and tshirt, all for a total of $75. WIN. I was hoping to not have to bring any tshirts on the cruise; they’re just less girly (especially since half of mine read MINNESOTA HOCKEY or some variation), and linen or lightweight cotton is far more pleasant in the humidity (or, say, over a sunburn). Also, my chest gets to tan that way. Between that and a couple sundresses I have to wear over my bathing suit, I’m totally set.

Last night, I became somewhat panicked over the logistics of the next week, so I made a chart and printed it out. It’s a very elaborate to-do list by day, and makes me feel far less worried about the whole thing. I’ll get to the gym as much as I want, we’ll get all our Aliveness Project shopping and baking done, Christmas will be prepared-for, and all the bills will be paid. Whew.

It finally snowed today, but only a tiny bit! I’ll be 10 times more excited about snow once I get my tires swapped out tomorrow night. I’m pretty proud of myself for holding out til the last second. Those snow tires are going to last me for years**.

*100% untrue.
**or til I sell my car in a few months. hopefully.
