gurgle.

Oh holy crap, there is a lot going on.

one.
The Breast Cancer 3-Day begins Friday morning at 6:30am. I’m over my $3,000 fundraising goal, thanks to many, many of you. My team will have raised over $35,000 by the time all is said and done. We have 13 people walking this year, and two crew members. Also, a substantial cheering section!!

Here’s an overview of the route. I think being unfamiliar with most of that will probably be a plus, and I’m really glad we’re ending in Minneapolis.

At least three of us are extremely unprepared this year, and I am among them. Force of will, you’ve gotten me through a lot of other things before! Don’t fail me now!

two.
My lungs make an awesome bubbling noise. I haven’t had time to consult the dictionary of oldtimey ailments, so I can’t say for sure what’s wrong yet. Probably not the vapors, because we decided that’s just farting.

I have been so, so productive at my house. Because Matt’s parents were in town on Sunday and Monday, I’ve been sleeping at mi apartamente. While the main rooms have been very clean and organized for some time now (except for that box where the cats store their poop), my bedroom is in a permanent state of upheaval. Last night, I dragged out the five trash bags full of donations and have begun the process of hauling them to my very small car. This freed up an entire corner, which is now neatly occupied by my knitting. Of which there is plenty, but at least it’s organized. Thank you, Ravelry.

I did things like change lightbulbs (an alarmingly dangerous feat, as I have high ceilings and can barely touch the lights with my fingertips while standing tiptoe on my chair), un-stuck my cabinet using a butter knife and towel (only to find that the most exciting contents were chewing gum and half a bag of Dominican coffee beans), did laundry, and started packing for the 3day. Also, I watched Children of Men on my computer while knitting. I can’t say that ‘great’ is an appropriate description of that film.

This weekend was insanely awesome.

Friday, a bunch of us (including my dad) went to Raceway Park near Valleyfair to see what we thought was the demolition derby. I mean, it was called ‘Friday Night Destruction’, right? Well, it turned out to be other things that were equally entertaining. There were the figure-eight races, where the cars were in danger of smashing into one another twice each lap, and I screamed every time they even got close. There were flagpole races, where the cars had to circle a flagpole, and crash into each other a lot. And there there was the Green Mamba, which was basically wheels and a frame built around a jet engine with an afterburner. It made noise and fire. Also, the driver had no legs, because of the Green Mamba.

At the end of the races, they brought out the Green Mamba again, turned off all the lights, told us to watch for burning debris raining down upon us, and melted a car. It was spectacular.

Saturday, Matt and I went to the Twins game. While the game itself was, well, in keeping with the Twins of late, it was awesome to see the 1987 World Series reunion beforehand. Also, we got 20th anniversary Homer Hankies, which I will add to my collection. Afterwards, we drove way the hell out to Hastings to join Sean’s housewarming party already in progress. I knew it would be a good party, based on the number of drunken texts from Wendy and Cindi demanding to know where we were (my last response was: OUTSIDE, GAYLORD*!) A lot of poor drinking decisions were made, we got to hang out with Ryan and Ben (who is no longer either unborn or a fetus) again, we breathed fire, and got to witness the greatest karaoke ever. We went to bed around 4am.

Sunday, I went to the the parents’ to celebrate my mom’s birthday a few weeks late, because she’s been in Michigan taking care of my grandma. Wendy came over, and we ordered 10 tons of crappy Mexican food, minus the mariachis. In the early evening, I joined Matt and his parents for dinner (his mom’s learning some vegetarian dishes, how cute is that?), cocktails, and slides and a video of little Matt. SO CUTE. He’s a very good sport.

five.
Tonight we’re going to the mall for 3day stuff and the many other things we need and don’t need (like Kozik figures from the Ecko store, for example). Also, since I haven’t seen him in well over 24 hours, please DO NOT DISTURB.

Jenni
