Today I played the words ‘dildo’ and ‘halibut’ in Scrabble. I’m actually more proud of the latter, because halibut is one of those things that’s never not funny, much like responding to questions with “your mom”. Not only is a halibut gigantic, he also has two bulgy eyes on one side of his head. He wasn’t even born that way; one of them just mosied on around til it got there, and then he could lay down without having one eye in the sand all the time.
Halibut. Awesome. Anyway, last night, I accompanied Cindi to Psycho Suzi’s so she could be on the Food Network. She’d emailed Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives a while back with a list of suggested locales in Minneapolis, and they contacted her recently to tell her they’d be filming at Suzi’s, so she should come hang out. We figured we’d probably be on the show sitting in a booth enjoying our tiki drinks, but they had other plans: Guy Fieri came and sat with us, and started by telling her that she was the reason they were there. He interviewed her for a long time, and it was awesome. We had to sign releases authorizing them to put us on the TV-box, and then Matt arrived and we hung out and had dinner while watching the rest of the filming. They talked to Leslie, the owner, and Guy spent a lot of time behind the bar. Also, when we got our tab for $14 (Matt’s drink and two Schlitz beers… they were having a relaunch event there, too), we realized that the Food Network had bought us deep-dish and cocktails. SCORE. While the film crew stayed there to drink, we headed across the street to Jaros’. It was completely empty except for Danny and an odd girl playing the naked lady machine. We spent a few hours there with our greenies and Total Naked Lady Victory. All the top scores belonged to Food Network celebs! Go figure. And today, we had hangovers. The end. Jenni
