fabregasfabregasFABREGAS!

OH GOD, the catching up! Is so much!

Thursday night was date night, and like I said about the making out: yeah. We had dinner at Blackbird, which was ridiculously excellent and also walking distance from Matt’s, then a cocktail at Tejas. We went there because it was across the street from the movie theatre, but soon realized that the bartender was AWESOME, and therefore we need to go back. We saw Across the Universe; it was very pretty to look at (I love Julie Taymor a lot), somewhat overwhelming in scope, and made me realize I only dislike the Beatles when they’re actually performing their own music.

Friday, we went to Grumpy’s before the hockey game, and then should’ve probably just gone home and taken a nap for two and a half hours, dammit. You know it’s not going well when you’re just thrilled to not be shut out. We proceeded to Rudolphs, where we lounged in the round pimp booth with Cindi, Dan, Ryan, Jumi, Chris and Meg. Ryan spent a good portion of our time there with a metal bowl on his head, and nobody said anything about it. It’s that kind of place.

Saturday, we did nothing during the daytime but watch some sporting events. Also, I baked cookies and knitted. In the eveningtide, we got dressed and headed to Sean’s Halloween party. I was the Dude (with an awesome eyeliner goatee that started driving me crazy halfway through the night, so I wiped it off), and Matt was a scarily-accurate Walter. Wendy was K-Fed, carrying one of her kids in a Taco Bell bag, and Cindi was, um, a retard. It’s possibly that we pried the baby’s head off and drank out of it. WendyK-Fed is an awesome parent.

On Sunday, we all convened at Lyle’s for SPORTSBRUNCH. The place was packed, of course, due to the Vikings game. Our food took an hour and half to arrive, and yet somehow we didn’t really care (mostly because they were very apologetic and kept us in lots of coffee). We watched the highly-spectacular and recordbreaking Vikings game, which thankfully offset the repeated horror of the Gophers hockey game. We left midway through the most overhyped game in the universe, because the Patriots and Colts pretty much cancelled each other out. I wanted the Pats to win, but hoped maybe Tom Brady’s arm would tear off on his last pass. Man, I hate that guy.

In the evening, I finished the baby blanket I thought would never end. I’m really pleased with the result, though, and I think that kid should hurry up and be born already. I’m impatient!

Last night, Matt and I had a date with the mall, to see things like the new Lush counter that’s finally made its way to Minneapolis. We also found us a cheap copy of the Blues Brothers, so we went home to watch that after stopping to pick up some curry mock duck et al at Rainbow. The Blues Brothers is still one of the greatest movies ever made, I still remember it pretty much word-for-word (the added scenes in the new edition are kind of disturbing because it throws all that off), and I missed the last 20 minutes due to being nearly passed out on the floor from a back massage. I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned in the last couple of hours how awesome my boyfriend is.

In other exciting news, wifi has come to South Minneapolis. I signed up yesterday, and it’s going to run me $25/month. I cannot wait to call Comcast to tell them exactly what I think of them. Oh, and also to cancel. I just calculated that, since I use my internet service at home on average 15 minutes a day, I’m paying them approximately 20 cents a minute. (Remember paying by the minute for AOL on your 28.8 modem? Yeah.) That’s going to save me almost $40 a month, and I won’t ever have to speak to them again. SCORE.

Ok, I should probably get back to emailing about cruise excursions. I have very important work to do today, obviously.
