Just then

It’s time for Friday notes!

1) What’s guaranteed to make your evening? Coming home and finding a priority mail envelope in your mailbox chock full of things that make you giggle and exclaim about your love of having an analog penpal, who even went so far as to write his letter in fountain pen. Now that is hot.

2) I was fruitlessly searching City Pages to see when Crystal Method was playing the frigid heartland, and the very top article features an interview with Yuri, which isn’t so unusual because the boy deserves every bit of his superstar status; the part that I found a little weird is it’s almost word-for-word a conversation we had while on our way to get coffee the other night. Are they recording us? I’m gonna have to watch the paper next week to see if they reprint that exchange Heather and I had comparing weekend notes, because that’s just going to get us in trouble.

3) I’m pretty convinced that someone telling you that they read what you write every single day, or asking where they can buy your book, or saying that your online whatever inspired them to come up with their own is the internet equivalent of a blowjob. I can’t imagine what you see in this, really, but thanks. It means a lot to me.

4) I didn’t have time to have my company picnic this year, so I’m considering having an office Xmas party instead. Heather wondered if she’d be able to make out with one of my coworkers in the bathroom. Since I’m the only employee, I guess that means everyone’s making out with me. Score!

4a) Speaking of which, one of my really great short-lived ideas last week was to make out with a predetermined number of people. Just to do it. I don’t know. It’s a good thing I only act on 98% of my impulses.

5) It’s time to go to Nye’s and gawk at all the funny-lookin’ drunk folks.

Over and out.
