that’s, like, 20 miles a day.

Dear Friends,

[If you’ve ever been reckless enough to give me your email address, you’ve already been notified, but don’t go thinking that’s the last you’re going to hear about it. I’ve only just begun.]

This September, I’ll be participating in the 2004 Breast Cancer 3-Day. It’s a 60-mile walk over the course of three days, taking a winding path around the southern portion of the Twin Cities. By day, we walk our asses off, with multiple stops to hydrate and eat Clif Bars and such. By night, we sleep in a mobile tent city and frantically try to read the email we’ve been missing on the tiny little screen on our cellphones. That’s what I’ll be doing, at least.

I was really excited to hear about this event. I’ve always wanted to do a charity walk, and the 5ks seem like not such a big deal, since that’s like a walk around the lake. Sixty miles, on the other hand, is a challenge. I was almost frightened off by the fundraising part, but I got over that. If there’s one thing I’m good at, it’s telling everyone everything. So if you spend more than two minutes near me, you’re going to hear about it, and I’m going to ask you to donate.

So, um, DONATE. Please.

I need to raise a minimum of $2,000. I’d like to raise more than that, because I’m an overachiever. I’d really appreciate your help. Think of it as paying to force me to walk for three days straight. It’s kinda funny, really. Also, the sooner I raise the money, the sooner I stop asking you to donate, and move on to just complaining about blisters or losing my weekends to training or how much good walking shoes cost.

It’s always something.
Jenni
