Mmmmm, bullets. Hearkens back to my militia days.
- Hi!
- I had this realization the other night on the way home from Nye’s that I knew exactly where I had been one year before. I mean, yeah, I wrote about it and all, but I also remembered exactly how I felt. It was a strange sensation. I also remember what happened one year ago today: it was one of my worst mornings ever, where I was just about to give up and disappear forever. But it got better… faith in humanity restored and all that. As of one year ago today, I had never seen the Pacific Ocean, either. Damn.
- My fundraising took a big leap forward recently. I have only $750 left to go. Please donate! You’ll be forcing me to walk 60 miles, metatarsalitis and all. Which would be a lot funnier if it wasn’t kinda painful.
- I got an iPod. I could not resist, because Stephanie loves hers, and because Apple is engraving my name on it for free. You engrave my name on anything for free, and I’m yours.
- I swear to god, I’m catching up on email today. Please stop making me feel bad for being a shitty correspondent.
- My new favorite color is blaze orange. Like in hunting, only not.
- I was going to go see the Violent Femmes for free tonight, but then we decided to go hiking. The hiking is this afternoon, though, so perhaps I can manage both. Work, hiking, dinner, concert, and it’s possibly going to rain. It’s a lot.
- I’m madly knitting every spare moment I get, because I want to finish this hoodie. I think it’s gonna be awesome, because I try on all the pieces as I go and they seem perfect. I did finish that Japanese sweater a while ago; I should take pictures. It’s a little too big, but good for a first real clothes-project. When I first took up knitting, I swore I’d never make clothes. And now look! I love it. I have this incredible urge to make/create stuff again lately. I want to make useful, comforting things. I want to bake. I want to tell you stories. Am I pregnant? Ha. Next up: that sweater (nty: what color?)! And a poncho, if I can find a good pattern. And and and. Yeah.
- I have decided to keep on truckin’ in the lil rig for now. Because, you know… good times! We arrived at a truce after I thought his air conditioning broke this weekend, but I was wrong. Chico’s really not a bad car at all. If I’m smart (and really, you never know), I’ll buy me a truck between the time the house sells and the closing. That way I can use it to move. Good thinkin’, right? Right.
- A story. I pushed the card in and stopped with my finger poised over the keypad, looking back over my shoulder. She repeated her PIN number, then said, “That’s trust, you know.” I replied, “Dude, you know I forget everything.”
- That’s all! There’s no more. Not that I’m telling you, anyway.
