a relationship moment in history

Ahoy.

I have returned from San Francisco safe and very crabby with Northwest Airlines. I won’t say much about it here since I will be travel-journaling, but it was awesome to catch some of the things I missed last time around, and to hang with Señor Patrikios1.

When I got home, my dad said that my uncle had a stroke on Friday, and was in the hospital undergoing lots of tests and physical therapy. Also, my great-aunt called my mom and asked her to check in on my great-uncle in the nursing home, because she was concerned about his behavior. They found him unconscious and shaking, and had him rushed to the emergency room. Apparently, the nursing home was taking the DNR order way too literally. They said that every time they had gone in to feed him over the last three days, he’d been sleeping, so they didn’t want to wake him.

Three days without food or water earned him some kidney failure. So things are really not great familywise, and I feel bad for my mom, who’s basically living 350 miles away now. We miss her.

And there was more, but I gotsta get me to the gym and then car-fixin’ class.

Best wishes to the Miller family.

1 I don’t know how to say ‘mister’ in Greek.
