HELLO I AM REALLY WIRED RIGHT NOW!!!
As if that was any different than usual. So ok! The show Sunday: – Weezer was absolutely tolerable. I expected the crowd for that would suck. They were a little tame, but otherwise it was good. They played a short set, so I guess they weren’t really co-headlining. Also, they ended with ‘Hash Pipe’, which is the one song I really needed to hear. Score. – Between sets, we took advantage of the situation and worked our way up near the front of the floor. We found the perfect spot against the barrier along the side (to avoid mosh-crush), standing on the little platform that covered the cables running down the floor. That made me about 5’10”, which meant I could see absolutely everything. SO PERFECT. – The Foo Fighters were unbelievable. They were so into it. The energy from the crowd was great. The sound in Xcel is amazing, for being such a huge cavern of a hockey arena. I got to see Dave Grohl drumming again, like 12 years later. Wow. WOW. – Here are some photos, as usual. See how I have a set of pictures on there from shows? I kinda love Flickr. Speaking of hockey, I’m going to TWO HOCKEY GAMES the weekend after next. The Goooophers and the Wild. I’m so psyched about seeing an NHL game. I remember the North Stars being nothing less than the WWE on Ice, and I figure these dudes are extra-pissed about not being able to play for a year. Or maybe they’re sluggish from too much HBO and Doritos? We shall see. Yesterday at work I felt like I had been run over by a zamboni. I thought I was getting sick, but after I came home and took a long nap, I realized I was just really damn exhausted. I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning my house and dealing with a bunch of piled-up stuff. I stored my rolly a/c in the closet, reorganized a ton of storage, and my apartment is actually better set-up now than it was when I first moved in. I still need a better computer desk (one that doesn’t take up 2 acres), and a towel hanger for the bathroom. Dammit, I love my house. I’m way excited about having a houseguest this weekend, too. Arabic class gets more and more entertaining. Last night, we all pooled our cash and played ‘going shopping’ in order to learn to count. I kinda didn’t know that Arabic had different numerals (being that our system of numbering is called Arabic), but they do. To make it exciting, they use a 0 for 5, a 7 for 6, and a . for 0. Plus you read them left-to-right, whereas the rest of the language you read right-to-left. My classmates are perpetually amusing. Francesca spent half an hour expressing her views on Rosh Hashana. Another girl told us all about her 10th-century Arabic textiles, which sound really awesome. Ike needs to remember to keep his cap on, because he’s 80% cuter when he wears it. Wolf leaned over halfway through class and farted loudly. Arabic is really sticking in my head for some reason. I have no idea why. It had been so long since I’ve studied something like this intensively, so I figured it would be a struggle. It’s pretty awesome to not have to make much effort to learn it. After class, I made more cookie deliveries. I’ve given out 10 big bags of baked stuff so far. I love it. I got lost driving in circles around Chele’s neighborhood, then I came home and Chris showed up. Two of the cattle seemed to like him a lot, but Chiva is absolutely terrified. She crouches and stares with gigantic eyes. It’s so funny to watch her. My clothes are too big. Don’t take that as a complaint, though! The 3day fundraising is going amazingly well. Our team is still #1 on the list, and two of us are on the top-5-fundraisers list, too. I’m so proud. Wendy registered our a team a domain today, I hear. We totally rule. Today was Tom the New Guy’s second day, and he’s already fixing Crystal Reports for clients. I’m so glad to have someone else on my project. We went to lunch at Little T’s, and I think Jane and I might have scared him a little. Actually, I think Jane and I scare pretty much everyone, so that’s par for the course. I was ultramega crabby about an issue this morning until I wrote a wondrous SQL script that fixed everything. I really think I should become a DBA. It’s all about good planning, design, and efficiency. So did you notice how I didn’t even attempt continuity in this post? I’m good like that. And now it’s time to brave the flood for dinner. 10-4 (get it?), over and out.Jenni
