xmaslovin’

Quickly now, because tonight is a very important HOCKEY game!

I’ve been running around like the headless chicken, looking forward to the fact I have nothing scheduled Sunday. Of course, I’d really like to go ice skating and xmas shopping, but that’s practically nothing. Sort of.

Last night, Kaye and I went to see Journey at Mystic Lake Casino. Yes, yes we did. And oh my god. It was so funny. The people-watching was even better than the fact we were in the Celebrity Palace (read: bingo hall) at Mystic Lake Casino watching Journey. I was a huge fan of the two guys next to us in button-down shirts and slacks, air drumming and signing at the tops of their lungs. And also the three trashy chicks who were definitely on something, dancing in their chairs a few rows ahead of us.

Kaye totally tripled her money on her first shot at video poker. She walked away with $6.25!!

Tonight we’re watching the Gophers beat Wis-can-sin, and tomorrow night I’m getting private cooking lessons from my favorite chef. Also, if I don’t do my laundry posthaste, I’m going to be wearing gym clothes to work next week. We’ve reached critical mass for dirty laundry.

I’m getting a little riled up about the holidays. This weekend I’m starting on xmas cards, shopping, putting up ordering information for our 3day xmas cookie fundraiser (which looks to be WAY bigger than we suspected, and might keep us barefoot in the kitchen for some time to come), hanging up my lights, and today I made arrangements for our holiday basket for the Aliveness Project. I have two Secret Santas to ponder, and a holiday party to plan. I’m not sure if you got this, but I’M REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THE HOLIDAYS THIS YEAR.

The last two months have been the best of my entire life. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but here.

See you next week!

your questions, answered

q:
Where in the world did you find that AWESOME tree?

a:
My grandma gave it to me. Back when I was a little kid, it would be set up in their swingin’ 60’s-style rec room in Milwaukee. It’s an aluminum thing from the 50s, and I learned the hard way to not let the branches get too close to an outlet.

It even comes with a rotating color light, but it’s inclined to tip over and I’m pretty sure it’s set on burning down my building. So I skip the light.

Sorry I’m answering questions out of order, but I’m being timely!
