Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
I stopped by quickly for the update before I head out to HOCKEY. Our booth at IDS went fantastically well. We ended up staying an extra hour, because it was still plenty busy at 1pm. We sold around 70 wristbands and lots of cookies; the total raised was $374. I was planning on maybe $200. AWESOME! Lots of people stopped to ask us about the walk, because they were considering doing it. People are either put off by the distance they have to walk, or the amount of money they have to raise. The first time around, the fundraising scared me. I think this time, I’m getting to be pretty good at it. As of now, I have $67 left to go to reach $2,200. Our team is at almost $11,000 today! It would be great if some of the women we talked to on Wednesday decided to join up. We had about 12 packs of cookies left over, so I ran them over to Caring and Sharing Hands. We had to make sure ALL our cookies went to charitable causes. Ha. Tuesday night, we finagled awesome seats for the Wild game. It was the first time in my life I was actually bored at hockey. The Wild sucked, and the game was kind of slow. But this just served to make me more excited for the Final Five, which currently has me counting down the minutes til I head back to Xcel Center. Wednesday night, I went to dinner at the house of some very cool people I hadn’t previously met. We had an amazing macrobiotic meal, and laughed so hard I was almost crying. Afterwards, we went to the Vegas Lounge (omg, I love authentic dive bars), and then to Jitters for dancing. SO MUCH FUN. And also, for once in my life I was smart and left at 11pm. I knew I’d be out late every night this week. But, really, I’d go dancing every single night if I could, at least on the nights I’m not playing DDR. Last night, we went to the first game at Xcel, and watched St Cloud humiliate UMD. How did they manage to beat Denver on home ice, again? Anyway, this makes me nervous for tonight’s game. The Huskies will be a tough opponent. But I have faith, and I have much love for Kellen Briggs. In a dirty, dirty way. I think we may be going to the St Patrick’s Day parade in St Paul now? Or maybe just lunch? And then to the 2:30 game. And then out with Matt et al? With a bunch of other people, between games? And then the 7:30 game. And then, Kaye’s birthday party, complete with GREEN BEER AND MAYBE EVEN A STUPID HAT. GO GOPHERS. Happy hockey-and-snakes day, y’all. Jenni
