Happy Awesome Friday to you all.
It’s Friday afternoon and it is 70-going-on-80 degrees outside and we’re being sent home in a little over an hour. Who’s unfocused today? Yeah, me. A weekful of awesomest days ever would seem to qualify for something even more superlative than ‘awesomest week ever’, but I’m a little hung over, so we’ll just go with that. No, wait! AWESOMEST WEEK EVER!!! That’s better. Monday, I did my truffle-and-raffle-ticket delivery rounds, and I seriously think I could do this fundraising stuff for a living, assuming it’s always this fun. I just love it so much. Sometimes the organizing and time commitment and getting-along-with-other-females gets a little overwhelming, but it makes me so goddamn happy. It’s an activity that requires a LOT of energy and enthusiasm and creativity and talkingtalkingtalking to people everywhere. Especially the talking part. People know when you’re passionate about something, and that’s what gets them excited about it, too. Well, and fundraising for the love of boobs doesn’t hurt, either. So while we’re on the subject, I’ll do the 3day update: our team is getting dangerously close to FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS, and I haven’t put in the donations for truffle or raffle-ticket sales yet. Bowling for the Cure is next Saturday!! We’re planning a charity garage sale for May 18-20. After that, the Booby-Q. YES. Tuesday was .NET class, but it was a kind of slow stuff-I-know-already class, so mostly Tom and I sat there whispering the whole time, catching up on the past couple weeks’ gossip. I really miss Tom a lot at work, because nobody here calls Jane ‘Sasquatch’ anymore, and that was never not funny. Wednesday, I did the test build at work in superultrarecord time, 9 minutes, then rushed out to go walk a million miles with Stephanie. We then went to meet Kaye, as we had plans to attend Omnifest at 9pm. Those plans, however, were waylaid by tequila. Which seemed like a really great idea until I woke up the next morning. After being sick for half the day yesterday and very nearly throwing up on the counter at Kirby’s coffeeshop because he thought it was a really funny idea to tell me tequila-puking stories, I recovered with enough time to go to the gym and get ready to go back out again. And also to meet a guy who wanted to test-drive Chico, which I’m really hopeful about. He seemed really nice, and would therefore probably take care of my car. I’m so sad about it. SNIFFLE. I met Cindy and Jon at Nye’s (which I hadn’t visited since Billy was shot, blech), and proceeded to have the best time ever had in a round gold-glitter booth in a Polish bar. The evening ended with Jon graciously delivering two obnoxious chicks to their respective apartments, which is, coincidentally, why this morning I had to take the bus up northeast to retrieve my car, which had been parked illegally for 12 hours with nary a parking ticket. And now I’m on my way to the gym, then to play GIANT DINOSAUR MINIGOLF. I will most definitely be taking photos of that. Happy Easter weekend, dudes!Jenni
