jump when it’s time to

I’m back!

I have returned with the following:
– bruises
– sunburn
– 500 photos (as many as I took in Alaska, oh my god)
– extremely sore legs
– the remnants of a cold, which I got the second I boarded the plane

Do not take this as complaining, however, for it was an incredible alone-trip and exactly what I needed. I spent Friday afternoon at happy hour with Matt, who dropped a very-tipsy me off at the airport; I proceeded to board the plane and partake in Northwest Airline’s free booze, because I consider it my duty to exploit them as they exploit me. I’ve been upgraded to first class on three out of my last four flights, dudes. How awesome is that?

Oh yeah, I went to New Mexico! I had spent a day there before, and it’s one of those places that has haunted my brain ever since. I flew into Albuquerque and spent the night, then drove up to Santa Fe. I spent a lot of time wandering around towns sightseeing and shopping, and even more time hiking in the mountains. New Mexico is gorgeous, and the perfect place to travel alone.

Because I spent my post-flight hours at Town Talk with the homies yesterday (note: I’d like to officially declare the men’s room as my personal conference room; you dudes can just go out in the alley if you find it ocupado), tonight I plan on going home to unpack, do laundry, and hopefully upload some of my photos. Also, I have to go to REI to pick up my tent, and you don’t know how much that excites me. It’s possible I may camp in my dining room tonight.

In other news, this site was again listed as Citypages’ blog of the day. I kind of want this to be my permanent biography: Minneapolitan Jenni Ripley blogs on Mexican wrestlers, calf-birthing, and skinnydipping in Lake Minnetonka. DAMN STRAIGHT, YO.

OK, it’s time for things. Watch for photos shortly!
