aloha.

Wait, before the Hawaii bit, here’s this week:

Tuesday, we had dinner at the Uptown Cafeteria. I loved it: the decor, the happy hour, the food. We didn’t see the rooftop patio, so that (and brunch) are a good excuse to return. Wednesday, I went to dinner with the available members of the Sweep/SRC team from the 3-Day to celebrate our fundraising success! Moto-i donated the whole meal (it was seriously 4 courses plus dessert), and everything was excellent. Matt and I will be going there again, too.

Last night was the official return to bowling leagues. We’re now in a sanctioned league, which means we have to pay $19 and some mysterious person keeps track of our official averages, and I think we might be eligible to go pro or something. I’m not sure. There are 13 teams in the league, and 8 of them consist of people we know. Also, our team name this year is ‘Pin 15 Club’. If you don’t know, you probably didn’t go to elementary school.

We were all hoping to do poorly (intentionally, even), and managed to fail at that. My average is 122, right where I left off last season. We also found out that all subs also have to pay the league fee, so instead of forcing someone to do that next week, I stayed to bowl three extra games. I did so within 20 minutes, despite my arm starting to ache halfway through the first (technically fourth) game. Also, one should never sweat while bowling, and yet.

Tonight, Matt and I have a date with Target, and that’s it. While most Friday nights would involve us out running around til almost 2am, this one is special: we have a flight to LA at 11:30 tomorrow. Our schedule is as follows:

10/2 2pm Arrive in LA
10/3 6pm Fly from LA to Honolulu
10/4 1:30pm Fly from Honolulu to Kauai, find Colleen and Steve at the resort
10/6 7pm Fly from Kauai to Maui
10/11 5pm Fly from Maui to Honolulu
10/13 8am Fly from Honolulu to LA to Minneapolis
10/14 12:10am Arrive home, and be sad about having to work in less than 8 hours.

In the midst of all that, there will be a lot of beach-time, some hiking on volcanoes, and probably even a mai tai or two.

Keep an eye on Flickr; I’ll try to post some photos. See you in a couple of weeks!!
