Hey, I’m back again this week! And I’m here to tell you about my ass.
Last night was our final broomball game of the season. I’m glad I was able to be there for it, having missed three games due to my crabby hip. I tended goal, not wanting to re-aggravate that injury again. This suited me fine; you may be aware of my feelings about goaltenders in general. The ice was a mess due to the recent heat wave, all bumps and not very slippery. It was nice to actually have traction in the goal, but it sucked for the other players; they’d go to slide, and end up tripping and falling all over each other. However, our team looked great, and it was a good game. I didn’t realize til halfway to Matt’s house that my right leg was killing me. I figured I’d probably managed a bruise or two in one of my many falls, but I definitely hadn’t noticed during the game. My knee and shin pads tend to avert most of the damage, so I don’t really think about it. By the time I got there, I was driving with only one leg on the seat, because my hip was hurting so much. I dropped my pantaloons the minute I got inside, and found two quite impressive bruises on my hip and butt, and a large bump developing. I took some painkillers and sat leaning on my left side all night. OW. The bump is a lot smaller this morning, and it’s only really irritating every time I get up, because it stiffens up when I’m sitting. I stand up, take a couple hops away from my desk, and then I’m good. It’s way sexy. I also kind of want to take a picture, except, you know, it’s my ass. Hmm. So I’m thinking maybe broomball isn’t the sport for me, considering I freak out any time something happens to my legs or feet. The day something interferes with my participation in the 3day is the day I THROW THE HELL DOWN. Tonight begins Matt’s birthday weekend, starting with shoppin’ for fly kicks, hockey at Lyle’s, then Town Talk. The rest of the weekend features a Gophers game, a Timberwolves game, brunch, a trip to Como Park, and hopefully even some sleeping! Therefore, I have one goal only for this here Friday: MAKE WORK BE OVER QUICKER. Happy weekend, dudes!Jenni
