weekends need more days in them.

A very quick update before I head to the gym!

Friday, my boss closed work at 3pm and we all hurried over to the other side of downtown to see our new office space. It’s empty right now, but should be ready for us in September.

It’s in the Pence Building, which is right across the street from the State Theatre, where I spent 6 years of my life. I’m pretty excited about being in a busier part of town again, though I have to get over the cost of parking there. Our office space is going to be amazing, too.

After the tour, we all went over to the rooftop at Seven for happy hour. As with all my work happy hours, it lasted for a very long time and involved very much booze. (Have I mentioned that my boss is awesome?) Around 8, Matt and I went over to Hell’s Kitchen to have dinner and see Davina and the Vagabonds. Oh my god, I forgot how amazing they were. It was such a great show.

Saturday, we watched a lot of soccer and baseball, and did much in the way of round-the-house things. Around going-out time at 9pm, we decided to stay home and have a bonfire. It was the perfect night for it.

Sunday, we went to Canterbury to bet on some horses! We both got a lot of sun while not having the greatest betting luck, and at some point decided we should own a racehorse. Our horse, Stankford, is probably not destined to be one of the greats, though, because I suspect he’ll do things like turn around and run the wrong way. But still, you get to tell people you own a racehorse! How awesome is that?

We also booked the rest of the flights for our Hawaiian vacation in October. We’re doing LA to Honolulu to Kauai to Maui to Honolulu to LA to MSP. (I’m flying from here on Saturday the 2nd, and he’ll be flying from Indianapolis, due to a conference. Meeting in LA? HELL YES.) That’s a lot of airplanes in 12 days, but the thing about the Hawaiian flights is they’re all 45 minutes long. I love that!
