rest in peace, chloe. you are loved.
After a second tense day of waiting for the vet to call with test results, I came home from work to find that Chloe had passed away. The vet called 10 minutes after I found her, with the bad news I was already expecting.
She’d been in many other places over the past week: at the doctor, at Cindi’s, at Matt’s apartment at night. During the day while I was at work, I took her to my apartment so she could be at home with the other cats. I’m very glad she was there resting comfortably at the end.
We took her to my parents’ house and buried her in the garden, and marked the spot with a C made of stones.
She’s lived with me for almost 14 years, and she will be missed.
