Another Breast Cancer 3-Day in the books. 5 years! In the Twin Cities alone, we raised $6.1 million this last weekend.
I have more to say about it, but I’m going to wait til I’m done posting pictures. Thanks again to everyone who supported us again this year!
In the meantime, this:
We just heard news that they’re apparently closing/moving(?) the Uptown Bar. That’s pretty much the last remnant of anything that used to be awesome in Uptown, and it hurts a little. Then Wendy emailed this, about the Chambers Hotel:
Wendy: nooooooooooooooo!
…the rooftop terrace bar, formerly Red, White & F*#%-ing Blue Bar, will be renamed. Name TBD. There will be DJ’s there most weekend nights, save those when private events have rented the space.
Me: I HATE EVERYTHING
Matt: THIS IS THE RED, WHITE AND F*#%ING WORST DAY EVER
Me: well, my plans are set for this weekend. brunch at uptown, drinks at rwfb, and then BURN THE ENTIRE GODDAMN CITY TO THE GROUND.
So what I’m staying is you might want to stick to St Paul on Saturday.
Well that settles it, then. You’re all moving to Ann Arbor.
not unless that’s an island in the caribbean, missy.
man, i just laughed and laughed at this

rip uptown bar, but please, uptown’s been pretty friggin weak for a long time now.
oh yeah, for years. there have always been a couple remnants, though.
i think we should blame all of this on cowboy slim’s. it gave the uptown bar herpes.
that’s an entirely plausible connection. and frankly, no love lost for myth either. the place was a spectacle but it was stealing shows from first ave, etc… and made no bones about it.
