I have the sign-up form for the Aliveness Project Holiday Basket Program here, and want to send it in in a week or so. Please let me know if you’d like to be involved this year.
In case you don’t know how it works:
The Aliveness Project supports people living with HIV/AIDS in the Twin Cities. Every year, they organize a holiday basket drive, in addition to several other programs. We adopt a family (or multiple families), shop for them, wrap the gifts, and deliver them to the Aliveness Project. Their volunteers deliver baskets the week of Christmas or Hanukkah.
The suggested budget per person is $35; we usually run closer to $40 each. You don’t have to shop if you don’t want; you can just donate the cash and we’ll buy the gifts. I have all the gift-wrapping supplies, and will deliver the baskets to the Aliveness Project.
Please let me know by next Friday the 20th if you want to be involved! I’m hoping to adopt as many people as possible this year. It’s been a rough time for everyone.
P.S. I’m also planning on baking Christmas cookies for the Aliveness Project as well; lemme know if you want to help!
