It was freezing there and we were unprepared, so we stopped at an outfitter so I could buy a fleece. There were elk everywhere, wandering around in people&#8217;s yards and everything.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/93\/247819910_fbabe6453d.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" border=\"1\" height=\"375\" width=\"500\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We encountered a snowstorm around 8,000 feet! It was gorgeous, though the wind was ridiculous. It was fascinating. An elk would trumpet and a whole herd of ladies would try to fend off his advances.
