On the way to Petroglyph National Monument, I saw many, many hot air balloons taking to the skies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/84\/238206420_d3be2a2e0a.jpg?resize=500%2C367\" border=\"1\" height=\"367\" width=\"500\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I was the first person to reach the park, and the gates to the trails was still closed. Why do you do it when you have good hiking shoes?<\/p>\n<p>I headed towards Albuquerque&#8217;s Old Town, to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atomicmuseum.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">National Atomic Museum<\/a>, because I have a huge fascination with everything atomic-age and cold-war related. I picked up a bunch of tacky joke-souvenirs for the folks back home, and then found the greatest store on earth; it was full of Dia de los Muertos decor.
