I can&#8217;t possibly sum up a 10-1\/2 year partnership in a way that will be meaningful to anyone else but me, so I won&#8217;t even try. The truth is that we&#8217;ve been best friends for 15 years, and the viccissitudes of the relationship of late were threatening to destroy that.<\/p>\n<p \/>So I made the decision to cut off the diseased part, in hopes of saving the rest. Time will tell if that was the right thing to do, but I honestly believe this is the healthiest and ultimately happiest decision for us both. That doesn&#8217;t help the fact that it hurt like hell to do the cutting.<\/p>\n<p \/>I will always love Heather. She will always be my family. I will be close to her for the rest of my life. We&#8217;re still going to hang out and laugh and make fun of you, and you won&#8217;t even be able to fight back.
